What a Bollywood mashup is

In Hindi film music, a “mashup” usually means a label-made medley: one DJ takes the hooks of several songs, often from a single film’s soundtrack, and stitches them into one continuous track over a new beat. From about 2011, labels such as T-Series and Sony Music India began releasing these as singles alongside a film’s songs, which is why so many of them are named after the film, as in “Aashiqui 2 Mashup” or “Ek Villain Mashup”.

Two names come up again and again. DJ Kiran Kamath made a long run of mashups for T-Series. DJ Chetas (Chetas Shah) is known mainly for Bollywood mashups and remixes: Wikipedia lists him at number 33 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs in 2016, and credits him with “The Humpty Mashup” on the Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania soundtrack. Because these mashups were released by the labels that own the songs, they are licensed releases you can buy or stream, not unofficial edits.

Official Hindi mashups to start with

Best Party Mashups (By DJ Chetas) — Sony Music India, 2016

Four long party mashups on JioSaavn, among them the 21-minute “Ultimate Bollywood Dance Mashup” and “Dance In Style Mashup”. These are continuous sets, so they suit background listening or a warm-up more than a playlist of short tracks.

Where to download them legally

Buy the track. Each T-Series mashup listed here has an Apple Music page that says it is also available in the iTunes Store. A purchase there gives you an audio file you keep and can play offline without a subscription. Amazon Music sells many of the same singles, so search there by title if you don’t use Apple devices.

Stream and save offline. JioSaavn, Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music let subscribers download tracks for offline listening inside the app. That is the easiest option for a phone, but the files only play in that app and stop working if the subscription ends.

Which to choose: buy the handful of mashups you play constantly, and stream the rest. The details in the list above (release date, length and label) come from each store page, checked on November 5, 2026. Prices and availability vary by country.

Why to skip the free MP3 sites

Search for “Hindi mashup songs download” and many of the results are MP3 sites that copy label releases without permission. Besides the copyright problem, these sites are a common route for pop-ups, fake download buttons and bundled software. Their files are often re-encoded at low quality and wrongly tagged, so you can end up with the wrong mashup under the right name.

If you only want to listen, the official uploads on the labels’ own YouTube channels and the streaming apps cost nothing with ads. If you want a file, buying a single usually costs about the same as a snack.

Find the right version

Mashup titles repeat. There are several “Zero Hour” mashups from different years, and many films have both an official mashup and a fan-made one. Check three things before you buy: the label line (℗ T-Series, written “Super Cassettes Industries”, or Sony Music India for the DJ Chetas album above), the year, and the track length. A fan edit usually has no label line at all.

Keep the credits with the file: the mashup title, the DJ, the film or album and the label. Two uploads with the same name can be different mixes, and the credit is also how you find the DJ’s other work.

Using Hindi mashups in your own sets

If you DJ with these tracks, run each file through our song key and BPM finder before the gig. A Bollywood mashup often changes tempo or key between the songs it joins, so a single BPM tag can be misleading. Look for a steady section at the start and end to mix in and out of.

Buying a track gives you a personal licence to listen. Playing it in public, at a wedding or a club, is normally covered by the venue’s performance licence rather than by your purchase, so check that before a paid booking.
